    Overview

    Spry Methods is actively seeking an IT Production Operations Team Lead to join our team and support IT operations for a government client in Fort Collins, CO.

    The USDA's Natural Resource Conservation Services (NRCS) is an effort of Federal and State agencies, universities, and professional societies to deliver science-based information to land owners.     Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors

    The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a high-performing team of application, server, and database administrators that support custom-developed web applications and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products in an enterprise web environment.

    • Supervises the day to day administration of Production Systems Operations Team in support of 24x7x365 production systems
    • Manages staff responsible for system administration, network administration, web application administration, server and storage infrastructure administration
    • Participate in strategic planning
    • Serve and point of contact and communication channel to executives for all matters related to production systems
    • Lead enterprise discussions relative to application server system administration, network administration, web application administration, server and storage infrastructure administration

    Required skills and experience include

    • Four-year technical degree such as Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or Engineering; or 4 years of networking, server administration, or database administration experience
    • Ability to communicate effectively to executives
    • Strong understanding of system administration, network administration, web application administration, server and storage infrastructure administration
    • Proven ability to lead a high-performing team
    • Must have excellent inter-personal skills to be a superb teammate, and ability to contribute to a high-performing team
    • Communicate complex information well using MS Office

    Preferred skills

    • Experience leading an operations team that directly supports production systems
    • Experience using devops automation tools
