    Overview

    Spry Methods is actively seeking a qualified Information Security Policy Specialist to support Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in Arlington, VA.

    Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors

    • Evaluate the proper incorporation of, and compliance with, security standards for information technology systems, document security management programs, and classified or sensitive information marking and control as contained in the policies, directives, instructions, and guidance of statutes established by the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Committee on National Security Systems, the Director of National Intelligence, the Office of the National Counterintelligence Executive, the Information Security Oversight Office and other authoritative US Government guidelines.
    • Research, develop, and interpret security policy for the following: information systems security, information technology research and analysis work, cyber security planning and implementation, industrial security, and classified or sensitive information management programs. Develops and recommends information technology security and classified or sensitive information management policies/guidelines. Review requests for information security guidance or assistance, identifying the nature of issues involved, and researching guidelines to identify the general policies and procedures that apply to their solutions.

    Required skills and experience include

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or other related scientific or technical discipline
    • 5+ years of experience in the integration and implementation of policy, regulations, and doctrine in telecommunications and information technology development; and in organization/unit security program management with responsibilities for personnel security, INFOSEC, physical security, force protection, and insider threat
    • 2+ years of specialized experience in facility security management, security violation program management including classification, declassification, and protection of classified national security and other sensitive information originated or controlled by Federal agencies
    • Must be able to successfully complete a DEA background investigation in conjunction with being an active Secret or higher clearance holder and must be eligible for a Top Secret clearance if requested

    Preferred skills

    • Incident detection, analysis, coordination, and response
    • IT auditing systems, database, and applications
    • Performing vulnerability assessments and compliance monitoring
    • Working knowledge of computer hardware (PDA, desktop, server, and peripherals), operating systems, applications, and databases (single user through enterprise)
    • Knowledge of information security products;
    • Experience in network monitoring using host-based and network-based intrusion detection systems.
    • Certified in the following: CISSP or Security Fundamentals Professional Certificate by the Security Professional Education Development Certification Program
