    Spry Methods is currently seeking an experienced JavaScript and ESRI API developer for a role on one of our contracts. This full-time position affords the successful candidate the opportunity to work in an engaging, high-tech development environment, working with an excellent team and customer base.

    Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
    • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
    • Design and code new software or modifies existing software to add new features
    • Debug existing software and correct defects
    • Integrate existing software into now or modified systems or operating environments.
    • Make recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
    • Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards
    • Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
    • Write or review software and system documentation
    • Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, conferring with users or system engineers; analyzing systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigating problem areas
    • Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
    • Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
    • Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries

    Required skills and experience include

    • 5 + years JavaScript (ES5/6)/HTML5/CSS3 development experience
    • 5+ years Dojo Toolkit framework experience
    • 5+ years demonstrated experience with MVC and MVVM design patterns
    • 3+ years demonstrated experience with ESRI Javascript API 3.x
    • Demonstrated experience with asynchronous request handling
    • Demonstrated experience with building UI widgets with Dojo/Dijit, and implementing widget lifecycle management
    • Demonstrated experience using SVN and work on a development scrum team

    Preferred skills

    • Experience with front-end unit testing in JavaScript
    • Familiarity with front-end build tools (Node.js, Grunt, Webpack)
    • Experience implementing federal Section-508 accessibility requirements
    • Experience with implementing event-handling, notifications and aspect-oriented programming
