    The candidate must be familiar with networks and systems, vulnerability assessment tools, to include OS and Web Application tools. Should have experience performing front line triage, routing and tracking of security related incidents, events, inquiries, and a variety of other security related issues; working with Engineers, Developers and fellow Information Security colleagues to maintain information security posture at the customer site; and developing and implementing security policies and solutions to mitigate risks and enhance system security.

    Job Responsibilities and/or Success Factors

    • Assists with vulnerability assessments on mission-critical resources
    • Works with CSO, AO, CIO, and IT Security Advisor on all IT audits including user audits
    • Works with CIO, and IT Security to develop and implement IT Security procedures
    • Enforces security policy and procedures
    • Reviews logs, audit logs (system/application) weekly
    • Reviews any reported vulnerability from system administrators, Federal and International bodies for applicability in the PCLoB environment
    • Provides infrastructure support, including troubleshooting infrastructure and administration issues
    • Performs all aspect of security administration to include but not limited to Intrusion Prevention System analysis of possible threats identified during monitoring
    • Provides backup coverage for the Security Administrator and ISSO
    • Work with engineers to perform compliance assessments, quarterly vulnerability scans, and analysis of scans of FISMA enterprise systems as well as non-FISMA systems and applications.
    • Extensive knowledge of switching and routing protocols, anatomy of the packet, and the OSI model.
    • Knowledge of layer 2/3 Cisco networking technologies and ability to configure and manage Cisco switches and routers
    • Strong understanding of switched network environments utilizing spanning tree and associated network switching protocols to include VLAN technologies.
    • Has in-depth knowledge of security operations, including firewall rules and security policies.
    • Assist in the administration of all Information Security firewalls. Performing updates, upgrades, policy administration and validation.
    • Experience configuring and administering Sophos Firewalls.
    • Experience with securing network and application components.
    • Strong networking ability and knowledge of firewall platforms to assist in rapid identification and isolation of issues during incidents and outages.
    • Collaborates to design, plan and implement new firewall architectures, upgrades and features as necessary.
    • Manage and tune additional software blades associated with firewall architecture.

    Required skills and experience include

    • Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
    • Ability to obtain Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH v7)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with the proven ability to present complex, technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Solid organizational skills and strong customer service skills
    • Proven to be proficient in system administration, security administration, vulnerability assessment, and/or related technologies
